The Alligator XPERT 3.3 3D Bandsaw is a specialist industrial cutting solution designed for the fast and precise separation of metal 3D printed parts from additive manufacturing build plates. 
 
For companies using metal additive manufacturing technologies such as SLM, DMLS and powder bed fusion, removing printed components from the build plate is a critical step in the production process. The Alligator XPERT 3.3 provides the fastest, most efficient and most cost effective method of separating printed parts from the print board, significantly reducing post processing time compared with milling or wire EDM. 
 
The machine features a rigid two column bandsaw design, ensuring excellent stability and precision when cutting high value materials commonly used in metal 3D printing such as titanium, stainless steel, tool steel and nickel alloys.

Saw kerf (cut width): approx. 1.7 mm 
 
The narrow cutting width allows operators to remove parts very close to the build plate, minimising material loss and reducing additional machining. 
 
Adjustable Build Plate Clamping System 
The machine is equipped with a special adjustable clamping system designed specifically for 3D printing build plates. 
 
The system includes a folding mechanism with positioning stops, allowing the plate to be mounted easily in a horizontal position before being folded into the vertical cutting position. This ensures safe handling, quick loading and highly precise clamping. 
 
The cutting distance from the build plate can be manually adjusted using a control wheel, allowing accurate positioning of the cut while maintaining minimal machining allowance. 
 
Maximum build plate size: 350 × 350 mm 
 
Thread spacing and mounting configuration can be adapted to suit different 3D printing systems. 
 
The adjustable clamping jaw allows build plates with thickness: 10 – 60 mm 
 
Flexible Mounting Options 
The printing plate can be secured using two different fixing systems. 
 
Screw Mounting 
Standard thread spacing: 210 × 210 mm 
Interchangeable inserts allow thread sizes: M5, M6, M8 
 
The inserts are replaceable, allowing easy maintenance if threads become damaged. 
 
Quick Clamping System 
A quick clamping system is available which allows extremely fast mounting of the printing plate using a single tightening screw. This system can be configured to match the dimensions of the customer's build plate. 
 
Robust Industrial Construction 
The Alligator XPERT 3.3 3D is built on a stable compact base designed for industrial production environments. 
 
Despite its strong construction, the machine maintains a compact footprint, with a base width of only 850 mm, allowing easy installation within 3D printing production cells or post processing departments. 
 
The bandsaw arm moves on precision linear guides and is driven by a hydraulic cylinder powered by an industrial hydraulic unit, ensuring smooth and controlled cutting. 
 
The saw arm features heavy duty cast iron band wheels driven by an industrial motor with worm gear transmission, guaranteeing long term reliability and consistent cutting accuracy. 
 
Precision Bandsaw Cutting Technology 
The machine uses an industrial Bi-metal bandsaw blade (34 × 1.1 mm) designed for cutting high strength alloys used in additive manufacturing. 
 
Blade stability and cutting precision are ensured by three sided carbide blade guides, maintaining optimal blade alignment throughout the cut. 
 
The blade speed can be adjusted using a frequency inverter, allowing operators to optimise cutting parameters for different materials. 
 
Blade speed range: 20 – 130 m/min 
 
After completing the cut, the machine automatically stops the blade and returns the saw arm to its preset position, ensuring safe and repeatable operation. 
 
Operator Friendly Design 
The Alligator XPERT 3.3 3D is designed for simple and intuitive operation via a central control panel. 
 
The working area is illuminated by a powerful LED lamp, providing excellent visibility during cutting. 
 
The machine can also be modified according to customer requirements, allowing integration into specific additive manufacturing workflows.

Extraction box 
The extraction box helps to remove dust and sawdust from the cutting area. The extraction is divided into two branches. The connection hole for the powerful extraction has a diameter of 50 mm. 
 
This accessory cannot be combined with the accessories: Saw blade cooling and Powered brush 
Handling table 
The table allows easy handling of heavy printing plates between the 3D printer and the saw. The electric drive ensures the adjustment of the table height. 
Mist lubrication 
It creates an oil mist that is injected into the cutting area. It replaces the use of classic cooling emulsion, especially when cutting profile materials, where liquid leaks outside the machine can occur. It is also possible to use ecological oils. 
Saw blade cooling 
Cooling the saw blade extends the life of the blade, removes sawdust and contributes to a higher cut quality. The cooling pump starts together with the saw blade. The amount of emulsion is dosed by a valve on the guide blocks. The emulsion returns to the system via a waste container.
