COMET EX 38  INDUSTRIAL EXTRACTION SYSTEM FOR METAL & PVC CHIPS 

The COMET EX 38 is a compact industrial extraction system designed for collecting aluminium swarf, PVC chips, light alloy particles and dust directly from cutting machinery. 

 

Ideally suited to smaller single head saws and applications producing relatively low volumes of swarf, the COMET EX 38 combines powerful extraction performance with a compact and mobile design. Its high flow centrifugal fan provides an airflow rate of up to 1,200 m³/h, helping keep machinery and surrounding working areas cleaner while reducing time spent on manual cleaning. 

 

The durable steel construction and continuous duty three phase motor make the COMET EX 38 suitable for regular use in industrial production environments. Its compact footprint and non marking swivel wheels allow it to be moved easily between machines or positioned in workshops where space is limited. 

 

The COMET EX 38 is the most compact extraction system within the COMET EX range. It provides an effective solution where a larger industrial extractor would be unnecessary or where available workshop space is limited. 

 

Its compact design allows the extractor to be positioned close to the machine, helping reduce extraction hose lengths and collect swarf directly from the cutting area. The mobile construction also allows the unit to be repositioned when required. 

 

This makes the COMET EX 38 particularly suitable for smaller aluminium and PVC saws, light production applications and workshops operating several machines at different times. 

 

Extracted swarf and dust are collected inside a detachable 38 litre container mounted on wheels. Once full, the container can be disconnected from the extraction unit and moved to a suitable waste or recycling point. 

 

The removable container makes emptying quicker and easier while reducing unnecessary handling of the complete extraction system. This is particularly useful when aluminium swarf is being separated for recycling. 

 

The COMET EX 38 is equipped with a Class M polyester bag filter designed to capture fine particles carried within the extracted airflow. 

 

Its pneumatic filter cleaning system helps release accumulated particles from the filter and return them to the collection container. Regular filter cleaning helps maintain consistent airflow, extend filter life and reduce unnecessary maintenance. 

 

The external exhaust is fitted with a silencer to reduce operating noise and create a more comfortable working environment. 

 

Vibration cleaning is fitted as standard to the COMET EX 38. It vibrates the fabric filter to release coarser surface contamination into the collection container and is generally suitable for aluminium or PVC chips with limited dust. 

 

Optional pneumatic piston cleaning provides a more intensive mechanical action. A compressed air powered piston repeatedly moves the fabric filter vertically to dislodge accumulated dust and debris. It can be activated manually or configured to operate automatically when extraction finishes. 

 

The three phase motor allows the COMET EX 38 to operate continuously with minimal maintenance, making it suitable for regular use alongside production machinery. 

 

Motor overload protection helps protect the electrical system, while the robust steel body, industrial wheels and integrated parking brake provide stability and durability within demanding workshop environments. 

 

 

An ATEX Zone 22 certified configuration is also available where a suitable risk assessment identifies a potentially explosive atmosphere.
