When you’re cutting material, it’s very important to have at least three teeth buried in the material and a maximum of 18. Too few teeth will cause the teeth to be knocked off as there is too much load; too many teeth will cause them to get to get blocked up with swarf and they’ll strip off.

Another factor to consider when deciding on your blade pitch is the head weight of your bandsaw machine. If the machine has a heavy bow weight you’ve got to make sure the machine doesn’t come down too quickly because if it does, the teeth will get blocked up with material and get knocked off. The coolants and the blade speed are very important considerations as well.

If you’re not sure of the right blade, our expert team can give you a chart to ensure you choose the right one for your bandsaw machine. Just call us on 01892 663398 or email [email protected] for guidance.

Alternatively, you can buy a selection of bandsaw blades online or order custom blades from our helpful team.
