Like the 401S the 501S is part of the Startrite heavy duty bandsaw range. The 501S carries through all the qualities of the 401S but in a larger sized machine suited to a larger workshop. With the increased capacity this machine offers, more substantial components are used to cope with extra strain large section timber causes. Such as an increased fence size, heavier bandwheels and a noteable increase in the size of the cast iron table. Therefore accuracy and performance are not compromised to accomadate the extra capacity available. This is a machine that is aimed at the busy workshop and as you would expect from a Startrite machine, will easily cope with the rigours of daily use. Along with sound, reliable performance the 501S offers as standard a kickstop and mechanical brake that despite the weight and bulk of this machine will bring the machine to a standstill inside 10 seconds.
